MFL hire Rossie as new CEO

PETALING JAYA: Giorgio Pompili Rossi is the new Malaysian Football League (MFL) chief executive officer (CEO).

The Italian replaces Datuk Stuart Ramalingam, whose contract with the footballing body ended on Aug 31.

The decision was approved by the MFL board of directors during a meeting on Wednesday (Sept 4), making Rossi the first foreigner to assume the role of its CEO.

MFL president Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan highlighted that Rossi's extensive international experience in football across sponsorship agencies, football clubs and leagues were key to his appointment.

"We are honoured to have Rossi join the MFL.

"His background will give a strong impetus to the football industry and we are fully confident in his abilities and expertise to lead as the new CEO," he said.
