PETALING JAYA: Selangor’s Jordanian striker Reziq Bani Hani has surprisingly left the Red Giants.

The 22-year-old, who has become a favourite of the fans for his exploits as a super sub, has returned to his country to don the colours of Jordanian Pro League club Al-Hussein.

Selangor announced Bani Hani’s departure at 1am on their social media site yesterday.

“Young Jordanian forward Bani Hani has officially left the club on a permanent transfer to another club in Jordan,” said a statement from the club.

“We thank him for his services during his time with the Red Giants and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Bani Hani’s agent Ali Aldaeffy said that the player decided to leave as he wanted more regular first-team action and he felt that Al-Hussein could offer him that.

Selangor received an undisclosed fee for the move.

Bani Hani has captained the Jordanian Under-23 team and is now hopeful of breaking into the national team.

Al-Hussein are the defending champions of the Jordanian Pro League and will be playing in the AFC Champions League Two, which starts next week.

With Selangor, Bani Hani made seven appearances in the Super League, scoring one goal and providing an assist. Out of the seven matches, he only made one start – against Kelantan.

In the FA Cup, he played three matches, scoring one goal.

With Bani Hani’s exit, Selangor’s remaining foreign line-up comprise centrebacks Umarbek Eshmuroddov (Uzbekistan), Safuwan Baharuddin (Singapore), midfielders Alex Agyarkwa (Ghana), Noor Al-Rawabdeh (Jordan), playmaker Yohandry Orozco (Venezuela), striker Ronnie Fernandez (Chile), wingers Ali Olwan (Jordan) and Alvin Fortes (Cape Verde).
