PETALING JAYA: Paulo Josue is officially Kuala Lumpur’s all-time top goalscorer.

The naturalised Brazilian broke Fandi Ahmad’s record of 67 goals when he scored two in the City Boys’ 5-0 thrashing of Kedah in the Super League at the Cheras Football Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (Sept 14).

The 35-year-old captain and playmaker scored his goals in the 49th and 58th minute to confirm his status as the all-time goalscorer for the club. He now has 69 goals for the club.

The other goals for Kuala Lumpur were scored by Bosnian winger Jovan Motika (14th minute), an own goal from Kedah centreback Hazrie Balqief Zulhadi (23rd) and midfielder Zhafri Yahya (26th).

Josue has been playing for Kuala Lumpur since 2017 and was made captain in 2020.

The win sees Kuala Lumpur moving to ninth with eight points from nine games. Kedah dropped down to 10th with eight points.

Meanwhile, in the other league game, Perak silenced the Negri crowd by beating their club Negri Sembilan 1-0 at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi.
