Bergson inspires JDT’s thrashing of Kelantan


PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim showed no mercy against Kelantan.

The Southern Tigers thrashed the East Coast club 6-1 in their Super League encounter at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Sunday (Sept 22).

Brazilian striker Bergson Da Silva was the highlight of the night scoring a hattrick in the 42nd, 45th and 71st minute.

Mercurial winger Arif Aiman Hanapi continued his good form from the AFC Champions Elite by scoring a double in the 55th and 57th.

The other goal was an own goal from Kelantan defender Uzair Aznan in the 74th minute.

Kelantan’s goal was scored by Palestinian striker Layth Kharoub in the 64th minute.

In the other Super League game, Penang were held 2-2 by Negri Sembilan at the City Stadium in Georgetown, Penang.
