Call for fans to bring the roof down at Perak Stadium

PETALING JAYA: Perak have urged fans to make the Perak Stadium a fortress – before it undergoes renovation.

The Seladang are set to play their final match at the stadium today, when they take on Super League giants Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in the league.

The stadium is set to undergo refurbishment works after Oct 5, with home matches for the club in the league and Malaysia Cup set to be played at the Manjung Stadium for the remainder of the season.

Perak general manager Neow Choo Seong has asked fans to come in full force, especially now that the team are in good form, winning their last three league ties, beating Negri Sembilan (1-0), Kuala Lumpur (1-0) and Pahang (3-0).

“The morale in our camp is high, and the players are ready to give their best performance. This final match in Ipoh is not just a football game. It is a celebration of the journey we’ve shared with our home supporters throughout the season,” he said.

But he further added that fans have to be at their best behaviour during the game against JDT.

“However, we also urge our fans to show respect and good behaviour during the match. We call on everyone to focus on the excitement of the game and avoid off-pitch conflicts or tribal issues.

“Let’s ensure that the spotlight stays on the football spectacle and that Perak are represented with pride and dignity.”

Perak are fourth in the league with 15 points from 10 matches, while JDT are top of the league with 31 points from 11 games.
