PETALING JAYA: Pahang did not have matches for almost a month but that did not deter them to get a win against Penang.
The Elephants silenced the Panthers crowd after beating Penang 1-0 at the City Stadium in Georgetown, Penang on Sunday (Oct 20).
Ukrainian winger Mykola Ahapov was the match-winner when he scored in the 45th minute.
Pahang’s last game was against Perak on Sept 28, losing to them 0-3. Pahang are now ninth in the league with 14 points, while Penang are 11th with 11 points.
Meanwhile, in Kuching, Negri Sembilan broke the hearts of Kuching City fans when they scored right at the death to hold the home side 1-1 at the State Stadium.
The home side thought they won the match when substitute striker Ahmad Hazwan Bakri scored in the 101st minute, as the match referee gave almost 20 minutes of injury time.
But Negri’s captain Annas Rahmat proved a spoiler when he scored the equaliser in the 106th minute.
Kuching remain seventh with 15 points, while Negri are 12th with six points.
