PETALING JAYA: Selangor are fully prepared for another tough encounter with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in their AFC Champions League Two campaign today.
The Red Giants, who beat the South Korean side 2-1 at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on Oct 23, believe they can repeat their performance in the return fixture of Group H at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
However, Interim coach Abdi Hassan said the South Koreans could play a different eleven compared to the ones who played in Malaysia.
“Our focus is on Jeonbuk and there have been murmurs that they could play a different eleven in their home fixture,” he said.
“The team we faced the last time were also good but we are prepared to take on any line-up. We will see how the scenario pans out. We have watched their last game and fully prepared for what’s to come against them.
“We are coming here for a good result. We want to qualify early.
“We know our strength and their strength. We are here to get something. We want to score goals and win.
Some of the Jeonbuk players that Selangor need to keep an eye on are their Ghanaian midfielder Bismarck Adjei-Boateng, playmaker Kim Jin-gyu, winger Lee Seung-woo, and Brazilian striker Tiago Orobo.
Meanwhile, Selangor’s Croatian midfielder Nikola Jambor said they are expecting a difficult game in front of the Jeonbuk fans.
“We are expecting a difficult game because we are playing in front of their fans in Jeonbuk.
“But we will do everything we can so that the fans can be proud of us,” said the 29-year-old.
“We need to be professional and do our job on the field. We are focused on the game and the next game after that.”
Selangor are top of Group H with seven points, while Jeonbuk are second with six.
