PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim maintained their hold of the first spot by thrashing Perak 5-0 in the Super League at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Sunday (Nov 10).

The game between both sides was postponed twice due to inclement weather in Perak, with the Seladang agreeing to have their home tie in Johor to ensure it doesn't interrupt the season.

Brazilian striker Bergson Da Silva was the star of the show with a hat-trick in the 21st, 45th and 89th minute.

The 33-year-old now has 19 goals in the Super League, topping the Golden Boot charts.

The other two goals were scored by fellow striker Romel Morales in the 18th and 32nd minute.

The Southern Tigers now have 40 points from 14 matches, taking a healthy 11-point lead over second-placed Selangor.

Perak remain seventh with 17 points.
