PETALING JAYA: Negri Sembilan were on course for a win but Police showed they were made of sterner stuff by scoring two last-minute goals for a comeback win.

The Cops beat Negri Sembilan 2-1 in the Malaysia Cup round of 16 first-leg game at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi on Sunday (Nov 23).

Negri broke the deadlock when winger A. Selvan produced a magical moment to get the goal.

The 24-year-old winger, despite a damp pitch, dribbled past three defenders before unleashing a superb low shot inside the box to beat Police goalkeeper Bryan See.

The Cops left it till injury time when substitute striker Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak got an equaliser by heading in a cross from fellow striker Ifedayo Olusegun in the 96th minute.

A minute later, Olusegun ensured Police got the win by scoring a goal in the 98th minute, crushing the hopes of Negri fans.

The second-leg match will be held at the Selayang Stadium on Nov 29.
