PETALING JAYA: Malaysia's campaign in the AFF Cup has come to an end after a goalless draw against Singapore, which saw them knocked out of the competition on Friday (Dec 20).

Harimau Malaya ended their final Group A match against Singapore 0-0 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, which was not enough for the hosts to advance to the semi-finals.

Malaysia finished third in the group, behind Singapore in second and Thailand in top spot, who both advanced to the final four.

The national team did have several opportunities to take the lead and get the crucial three points but none materialised as the Singaporean defensive line held their ground.

Malaysia ended their group stage campaign with four points, while Singapore advanced with six points and Thailand with nine points after winning 3-2 against Cambodia on Friday.
