Kelly rises to career-best 140th in world rankings


PETALING JAYA: National No. 1 women’s golfer Kelly Tan (pic) received a shot in the arm just before the US Women’s Open tee-off at the Champions Golf Club in Houston today.Thanks to a creditable joint 11th placing at last week’s Volunteers of America Classic in Texas, the 27-year-old climbed to a career-high No. 140 on the Women’s World Golf Rankings (WWGR), a rise of 10 rungs.

“It’s awesome. It was just in early 2019 that I was ranked a lowly 1,100th. I have really come a long way!” said a delighted Kelly, the sole Malaysian on the LPGA Tour.
