Putters with ‘largest’ sweet spot

The just-launched MalibuX putter is loaded with new technology.

LA GOLF have introduced the most technologically advanced putter yet and it’s in stores nationwide.

A year since entering the category and just weeks after debuting in South-East Asia, the American brand have launched their next generation of carbon putters - the Bel-Air and Malibu series.

Each feature descending loft face technology, the P-Series anti-vibration shaft and the “largest, sweet spot” on the market at just under 7,000 moment of inertia (MOI) (previously the largest sweet spot on the market was around 5,000 MOI), said Reed Dickens, founder and chief executive officer of LA Golf said in a statement.

“Every putter on the market has a steel head, flat face and a tiny, sweet spot, and now you have an alternative that addresses all of those factors.

“This is the most technology ever put in a putter,” said Bryson DeChambeau, an LA Golf partner. “And it rolls the ball perfectly.

“By using an all-carbon construction, a material five times less dense than solid steel, this allows for a much larger area of forgiveness for off-centre hits, mixed with our patented Descending Loft Face technology, which features four descending degrees of loft that enhance consistency with launch angles and yields more predictable rolls.”

The LA Golf’s Bel-Air and Malibu putter series are both available exclusively from MST Golf stores, where the Bel-Air and Bel-Air X come in blades and the Malibu and Malibu X are mallets, offered in a matte carbon. They are priced at RM2,750 and RM3,260 for the forged carbon putter.
