PETALING JAYA: Golfer Gavin Green has booked a ticket for the Olympic Games.

With his inclusion, Malaysia now have 21 athletes for the Games from July 26-Aug 11.

The 30-year-old confirmed his Olympic ticket after the men's qualification campaign ended yesterday.

Gavin was positioned at No. 53 with the top 60 cut-off for the Olympic field for golf, which will take place at Le Golf National in Paris next month.

It will be the third consecutive Olympic appearance for Gavin, who currently plays on the European Tour.

Gavin tied for 47th spot in his Olympic debut in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and placed 57th in the previous Games in Tokyo three years ago.

The race for the women's golf quota slots will come to an end this weekend. The hope will be on Ashley Lau

to make the cut as she is currently ranked 49th.
