GUYANCOURT (Reuters) - Play was suspended at the men's Olympic golf tournament on Thursday shortly before 4.30pm local time due to a storm in the local area, the organisers said.

Most of the 60 competitors had completed their first round but some including defending champion Xander Schauffele of the United States were still on the course.

It was later decided to resume play at 5.05 pm.
