Hayashi comes out tops after punishing second round

PETALING JAYA: Japan’s Daichi Hayashi (pic) upped the ante and produced a memorable five-under 67 on the second day at the Saujana Amateur Championship to take the lead yesterday.

When it looked like the intimidating Palm Course at Saujana Golf and Country Club would keep the region’s top golfers at bay, Hayashi got his best ever score on the course after being one stroke behind first-day leaders Aiden Kei and Connor Liew.
