RACHEL Yeoh Li Wen could not believe it, nor could her coach Ng Shu Wai – the 23-year-old had beaten Filipina favourite Aleah Finnegan to win the gold medal in the balance beam.

The plucky lass from Penang was not expecting to win as it was not her pet event, but great execution, minimal wobbles on the beam and a perfect landing led to her second gold.
