Sharul Aimy wins bronze in artistic gymnastics


HANGZHOU: After 17 years, Malaysia has won a medal in Artistic Gymnastics after Mohd Sharul Aimy bagged the vault bronze medal at the Yellow Dragon Sports Centre Gymnasium on Friday (Sept 29).

The 22-year-old athlete from Terengganu scored 14.466 points to finish third behind gold medallist from Japan Wataru Tanigawa (15.016) and silver medallist from Iran Mahdi Olfati (14.783)

The last Malaysian to win a medal in artistic gymnastics was Ng Shu Wai, who delivered a silver in the 2006 Doha Asian Games.
