PETALING JAYA: Malaysia secured their first win in the Sultan Azlan Shah after beating Egypt 4-1 at the

Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium in Ipoh this evening (Nov 5).

This win gives Malaysia four points from this win and a draw against Pakistan (1-1). Malaysia lost to Korea 0-3 in the opening game earlier this week.

Malaysia's chances of making the final now depends on their postponed match tomorrow evening (Nov 6)

against South Africa (stopped due to heavy rain on Friday with South

Africa leading by a goal after 13 minutes of play.)

Malaysia were rewarded with an early goal when Shello Silverius scored his second goal of the

tournament in the 13th minute but the determined Egyptians got back in the game when Mahmud Abdelhakim Maudouh scored off their second penalty corner for the night three minutes before half-time.

Firhan Ashari saved the blushes when he put Malaysia in the lead again in the 41st minute.

Malaysia were rewarded with two more quick goals in succession with Amirul Azhar scoring in the 49th minute and Shello adding to his goal tally in the 51st.
