KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champions Argentina were sent packing from the Junior World Cup after an agonising 1-2 defeat to Germany in a quarter-final match that was marred by a free-for-all after the final whistle at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
In a repeat of the 2021 final where Argentina triumphed 4-2, the South Americans were on the receiving end as the Germans exacted revenge through goals from Hugo von Montgelas (32nd) and Jacob Brilla (39th).
