Razie confident Tigers can claw their way into Olympics

PETALING JAYA: Hockey player Razie Rahim is optimistic that the FIH Qualifiers in Muscat, Oman (Jan 15-21) will provide Malaysia’s best chance to secure their place in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Speedy Tigers’ senior statesman, who is the most experienced player with 325 caps, has played in not less than six qualifying events but he’s upbeat that Malaysia can make a return to the Olympics since Sydney 2000. Razie, who made his debut for the Tigers in 2007, had endured the setback of missing the 2012 London and 2016 Rio de Janeiro but the defender believes the current squad are capable of ending a 24-year-wait to return to the Olympics.
