PETALING JAYA: It may have come just too late but Malaysia did not allow themselves to hit rock bottom at the Olympic Qualifier in Muscat, Oman by finishing fifth yesterday.

They defeated Canada 3-1 in penalty shootout after both were tied 0-0 in regulation time.They had earlier beaten Chile 5-0 in the fifth-eight classification match on Saturday.
