Teammates wait with bated breath over Faizal’s availability ahead of Nations Cup

Setback: Stalwart Faizal Saari may be dropped from the Nations Cup hockey team if he cannot recover in time from a knee injury.

PETALING JAYA: The availability of Faizal Saari for the Hockey Nations Cup could be decided in the next 24 hours after the veteran striker suffered a knee injury during training on Sunday.

Faizal, 33, is the central figure in the attacking line-up and national head coach Sarjit Singh had specifically retained the player in his squad during the recent revamp to guide his younger teammates for the stint starting tomorrow in Poland.
