LAST month, the Petra Jaya Hockey Stadium in Kuching erupted as the Perak boys finally clinched the long-awaited Malaysia Games (Sukma) gold medal after a 10-year wait.

The players jumped for joy and hoisted their goalkeeper after beating Pahang 4-2 in a penalty shootout during the tense final match. Earlier, the game had ended 3-3 in regulation time.
