PETALING JAYA: Japanese rider Yuki Kunii (pic) of DG Team HARC-PRO Honda Ph. took advantage of an early slip-up by Malaysia’s Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah to win Race 1 of the Asia Superbike 1000cc at Sepang International Circuit yesterday.

Hafizh of JDT Racing Team had earned pole position with the fastest lap time of 2:05.224s ahead of Kunii but could not keep the momentum in the Round 5 of the Asia Road Racing Championship.
