SEPANG: Italian hotshot Francesco Bagnaia produced a historic MotoGP pole position lap at the Sepang International Circuit to start at the front for the Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix today.

MotoGP title rivals Bagnaia and Jorge Martin had slugged it out for pole position in a remarkable qualifying session yesterday.
