PETALING JAYA: Rider Farish Hafiy Farid Sezli (pic) can’t wait to show off his skills in his FIM JuniorGP Championship debut at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal.
Farish, who is replacing Hakim Danish Ramli who injured his finger in an accident recently, is excited to ride the Moto3 class machine for the first time.
The final round was rescheduled to Nov 25-27 following a venue change from Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia to Estoril Circuit in Portugal due to the recent deadly floods in Spain.
Farish was taken on a track walk and was given a briefing by his engineering team as to how to deal with the circuit.
“I am excited. The walk gave me an idea of how the track would be and a lot of discussions went on with the engineering team,” he said.
“The track is quite hilly, which is pretty exciting for me but I was also advised to constantly communicate with my team manager to ensure I manage the track and machine well. On race day, I will surely do my best,” said Farish who concluded his campaign in the Asia Talent Cup season as the top-performing Malaysian.
Team manager Zulfahmi Khairuddin said he looks forward to seeing Farish in his debut Moto3 race.
“Honestly, I feel sad that Hakim Danish cannot be with us for this final round. However, I am really looking forward to seeing Hafiy (Farish) in action as his replacement. He has undergone intensive preparations after the MiniGP World Final to get ready for the challenges in Estoril.”
Zulfahmi added that another rider Danial Syahmi Ahmad Syahril could also do well in Estoril.
“For Danial Syahmi, Estoril is a good track for him. His top five result earlier this year will certainly boost his confidence heading into this final race.
“We wish Hakim Danish a speedy recovery, and we will do our best with Hafiy and Danial for this final round.”
Zulfahmi further added that the riders could be battling the elements in Estoril.
“We are also aware that at the end of the year, the weather at the Estoril Circuit can be unpredictable, with possible rain and strong winds.”
