MCF counting on Li Tian to outsmart chess powerhouses


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF) are putting high hopes on mathematics whiz kid Yeoh Li Tian (pic) to ward off the challenge of chess powerhouses Vietnam and the Philippines in Hanoi.

At the last Philippines SEA Games in 2019, the 23-year-old Li Tian stormed his way to victory in the men’s rapid chess competition to end Malaysia’s medal drought in the mind sport.
