SEA Games: Karate exponent Sureeya shines with third gold for Malaysia


PHNOM PENH: Karate exponent H. Sureeya Sankar bagged the third gold for Malaysia in the men’s kumite below 60kg competititon at Chroy Changvar Convention Centre in Phnom Penh.

Sureeya beat Indonesian Adi Saputra 13-5 in the final.

It is the third gold for Malaysia in the karate competition in the Cambodia SEA Games.

C. Shahmalarani and Prem Kumar triumphed in the women’s 50kg and men’s 55kg categories, respectively, on Saturday (May 6).
