Paris-bound pro golfers, shuttlers to get RM300,000 grant

PETALING JAYA: Professional golfers and shuttlers heading for the Paris Olympics have received an additional financial grant of RM300,000 from the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS).

Professional golfers Gavin Green and Ashley Lau, alongside independent badminton players Lee Zii Jia and Goh Jin Wei are the recipients of the grant, which have been disbursed through the National Sports Council (NSC).

The initiative is part of the ministry's efforts to ease the financial burden of athletes as they compete in qualifying events, exposure competitions, training camps and sparring sessions.

The grant also covers support services to ensure that athletes' preparations and training are tip-top.
