JOINING the national team is often a dream come true for many. Table tennis player Tan Yi Heng is, however, turning his back on the national team.

Yi Heng, who began playing table tennis when he was seven and made it to the national team in 2016, left the body in 2022 after realising that it no longer aligned with his life goals.
