PETALING JAYA: Paddlers Javen Choong-Wong Qi Shen have done the unthinkable, and they are on cloud nine.

The men’s doubles pair, ranked 187th in the world, upset China’s world No. 1 Lin Shidong-Lin Gaoyuan of China 11-8, 2-11, 0-11, 11-8, 11-7 in the quarter-finals of the Asian Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Saturday to win Malaysia’s first bronze medal at the meet in 54 years.
