(Reuters) - Scrumhalf Morne van den Berg will replace the injured Grant Williams in South Africa’s squad for their potentially decisive Rugby Championship Test in Argentina on Sept. 21, officials said on Thursday.

World Cup winner Williams, who started the 18-12 victory over New Zealand in Cape Town on Saturday, has been ruled out with an arm injury.

Van den Berg made his debut in the 64-21 win over Portugal in July and started the 30-12 Rugby Championship win over Australia in Perth last month. The Springboks' squad have two other scrumhalves in Jaden Hendrikse and Cobus Reinach.

South Africa, who have rested several regulars for the test in Argentina, lead the standings with 18 points from four games, ahead of second-placed Argentina on 10, and victory will give them the trophy for the fifth time in their history.
