PETALING JAYA: Negri Sembilan's Gan Chen Jie shot her way to the top with another Sukma record at the Sarawak Shooting Centre in Petra Jaya on Tuesday (Aug 20).

The 20-year-old bagged the girl’s 10m rifle gold medal with her score of 248.2, breaking the Games record of 243.7, previously held by Penang’s Shaveena Mei Vejayan at the 2022 Kuala Lumpur Sukma.

Penang’s Nur Maisarah Dzulkifli took silver with her score of 245.9, while Sarawak’s Kaira Ramadhani settled for bronze, scoring 220.4.

Chen Jie now has six gold medals under her belt at the Sarawak Sukma, and will be gunning for her seventh win tomorrow when she competes in the 10m rifle mixed team event.

Chen Jie previously broke the girl’s 50m rifle three positions Sukma record by scoring 574 points in the final on Saturday.

The previous record was held by Perak’s Nurul Syafani Abdul Razak of 569 set at the 2022 edition.
