Shooter Zen Hong in seventh heaven after making a clean sweep

KUCHING: Pahang’s Cheah Zen Hong has swept clean all seven of his events with a gold medal finish.

At the Sarawak Shooting Centre in Petra Jaya, the 18-year-old shooting clinched his seventh gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed event with teammate Wan Nur Afiqah Wan Mohd Haneef.

The pair won 16-4 against another Pahang pair Damia Hani Mohamad Sakran- Zainal ‘Azim Ahmud Mahmud in the final on Wednesday (August 21).

Zen Hong had previously won the individual and team events in the 10m and 25m air pistol events, as well as the 25m standard pistol events.

Meanwhile, Sarawak’s Justin Joannes Kelukin and Siti Nur Anniesa Mohd Danial Fikri took the bronze medal after winning 17-11 against Federal Territory’s Abdul Haiqal Abdul Aziz and Dania Irdina Zaini.
