Aira goes down to Salma

PETALING JAYA: Aira Azman (pic) was Malaysia’s last hope at the World Junior Squash Championships but the Asian Junior champion could not get past her Egyptian hurdle in the quarter-finals in Nancy, France yesterday.

Salma El Tayeb, the joint fifth seed, proved just too strong for the 17-year-old Aira as the Egyptian carved out a 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 win in 24 minutes to reach the last four.
