Aifa targets individual action at Asiad, but coaches want her in mixed doubles

PETALING JAYA: Squash professional Aifa Azman is caught in an Asian Games dilemma as she wants to focus on the women’s individual event although she has been asked by the coaches to consider playing in the mixed doubles in Hangzhou (Sept 23-Oct 8).

Aifa said national director of coaching Major (Rtd) S. Maniam has encouraged her to play in the mixed doubles with Syafiq Kamal but the 21-year-old is hopeful of playing in the individual event alongside Asian championships runner-up S. Sivasangari.
