Commitment pays off as Duncan bags second PSA title

PETALING JAYA: Duncan Lee is on cloud nine after winning his second consecutive Professional Squash Association (PSA) title at the RedOne PSA WSF Satellite tournament.

The 21-year-old worked hard to beat Na Joo-young of South Korea 12-10, 11-2, 12-10 in the men’s final at the Malacca Club Rotunda yesterday.

Duncan said the victory was the result of his unwavering commitment and dedication during training.

“I’m very happy to win another PSA title,” said Duncan, who won the first at Satellite tournament in August.

“I’ve been working really hard. I had placed great emphasis on punctuality and self-discipline during the training sessions and I’m glad I was able to translate it during competition.

“I’ve been actively participating in as many tournaments as possible, so that I can improve my rankings.”

Meanwhile, Whitney Isabelle Wilson secured her first PSA title after overcoming Jessica Keng 11-4, 11-8, 7-11, 12-10 in the women’s final.

The 15-year-old Whitney was overjoyed with her achievement.

“I’m super proud of my performance this week and I’m very happy because this is my first Satellite title,” said Whitney.

“I was not expecting anything when I entered this competition because I was unseeded.”
