Perseverance pays for Addeen

Well done: A patient Addeen Idrakie finally wins his first national title. — SRAM

PETALING JAYA: Squash player Addeen Idrakie was crowned as the new men’s champion at the National Championships yesterday after patiently waiting for his turn for more than a decade to achieve the honour.

The presence of world No. 13 Ng Eain Yow and five-time champion Ivan Yuen as well as former established international Nafiizwan Adnan, now a national coach, in the past decade didn’t give Addeen much of a chance to end his search.
