A debut to remember for Joachim

KUCHING: It will be a day long etched in Joachim Chuah's memory after he secured the boy's singles gold medal in his maiden Malaysian Games (Sukma) appearance.

Joachim of Federal Territories had to dig deep to defeat Negri Sembilan's C. Ameeshenraj 11-4, 8-11, 7-11, 11-9, 13-11 in the final at the Sarawak Squash Centre in Petra Jaya on Sunday (Aug 18).

He will now shift his focus to the boy's doubles event with his partner Sam Yong Juin Xian.
