PETALING JAYA: Reigning Asian junior champion M. Nickhileswar remained on course to claim a second career British Junior Open title after advancing to the quarter-finals in Birmingham.

Fifth seeded Nickhileswar beat American Omair Athar 12-10, 11-4, 9-11, 11-9 in the third round and is the lone Malaysian challenger in the boys’ Under-17 category.
