Teen swimmer Jonas shows he’s a potential SEA Games champion


PETALING JAYA: Young swimmer Jonas Lau (pic) is heading in the right direction towards achieving his ambition of becoming a SEA Games champion at the 2025 Thailand edition after winning the NX113 Melaka Open Water Swim Challenge in Encore Melaka recently.

The 15-year-old Sarawakian won the 5km race in one hour, eight minutes and nine seconds (1’08:09), more than six minutes over his closest rival Jose Louis Larrosa of Spain (1’14:54).
