No splashing show as Hoe Yean's campaign ends in Olympics

PETALING JAYA: Paris Olympic debutant Khiew Hoe Yean missed out on his bid to secure a new personal best in the men's 400m freestyle heats on Saturday.

The 22-year-old swimmer placed fourth in Heat 2, clocking 3:51.66s. Hoe Yean ranked 27th out of 38 swimmers in the heats.

The top eight swimmers from the heats advance to the final later in the evening.

German swimmer Lukas Martens topped the field with 3:44.13s ahead of Brazilian Gulherme Costa (3:44.23s).
