Swimmer Jayden sets national record at World Cup

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian swimmer Jayden Tan gave a splashing show on the final day of the World Cup in Singapore.

The 20-year-old shattered his short course national record in the men’s 400m individual medley when he clocked 4:16.09s to place ninth overall, improving on his national record of 4:18.28s.

It was only in July when Jayden had achieved a new personal best time at the short course meet in Bukit Jalil, breaking Wan Azlan Abdullah’s 25-year-old long national record of 4:27.85s.

His latest time was enough for him to qualify on merit for the short course world championships in Budapest, Hungary in December.
