Wong achieved an average mark of 91.3% for the six modules in the ICAEW Professional Level 2020 examination sitting. With the impressive average mark, she is awarded with two ICAEW Professional Level Examination world prizes; the first being the Overall Order of Merit Joint Sixth Place and the Arthur Swinson Prize, which clinched her sixth place in global rankings.

The second prize – the Highest Non-Graduate Student and the Simon Morris Memorial Prize –makes her ranked No. 1 in the world as a non-graduate student.

She is also a full scholarship recipient under the Sunway TES-ICAEW Global Accountant scholarship scheme.

“I have the passion and desire to build a better working world and create a positive impact in the accounting and finance industry, ” said Wong.

“That’s what led me to pursue the ACA qualification.”

She explained that the certification will help her gain valuable technical knowledge, competency and skills.

“It will give me the confidence and capability to help businesses solve complex problems, which in turn creates and enhances their value in society, ” she shared.

Wong chose Sunway TES for its reputation as the leading education provider in professional accountancy and finance programmes. She believes that the strong relationship the institution has with the ICAEW Authorised Training Employers (ATEs) is going to provide her with the best opportunities to launch a successful career in global firms.

Leong, on the other hand, despite having to juggle with two programmes – she is a part-time ICAEW programme student in Sunway TES while pursuing her full-time accounting degree at Universiti Malaya (UM), her discipline and perseverance paid off when she was awarded the Joint First Place and the Watts Prize; ranking first in the world with the highest 95% marks, for the ICAEW Audit and Assurance paper.

This collaboration between Sunway TES and UM allows UM accounting degree students to pursue an ICAEW programme concurrently, so students like Leong can reduce their study duration and achieve their professional qualification faster.

“ICAEW is more than just a paper qualification; much of its information sources and webinars help ACA students develop beyond studying, ” Leong explained.

Leong added “The rigorous examination helps prepare students in coping a similar scenario later in their careers and allows them to demonstrate their professional skills.”

“I would recommend Sunway TES CAE as it has helped me learn creatively and absorb knowledge better, ” she opined.
