MASSAGES have always been known for therapeutic effects – a good massage induces relaxation and releases stress. It has always been a luxury associated with luxury spas and high-end health clubs.
Over the years, however, technology has advanced to the extent everyone can now enjoy a therapeutic massage right in the comfort of their home.
At the forefront of the industry, award-winning OGAWA Malaysia leads the way.
Since its inception in 1996, OGAWA has stood by its long-term vision of “Leading the Technology of Wellness” by heavily investing in research and development to constantly come up with innovative products that provide health benefits to people.
A global innovator of wellness, OGAWA, which means “stream” in Japanese, stays at the top of its game with a firm belief in the concept of starting from a source – the river, which later expands to reach further, touching lives along the way, and finally emerging at the end as a mighty ocean.
To this end, OGAWA is constantly innovating wellness technologies and products to improve the lifestyle of people all over the world – for today as well as tomorrow.
Having always designed, engineered and manufactured its own products, OGAWA uses cutting-edge technology and ensures premium quality.
The company is the only brand in the industry with a full supply chain, from research and development, production, branding and marketing to customer service.
Having complete control at every step of the way allows OGAWA to implement strict quality controls to ensure that all products are held to the highest quality standards, which are adhered to not only during the manufacturing process, but also in the quality of materials used.
With an established global presence in over 20 countries and more than 800 outlets worldwide, OGAWA currently has 52 stores in Malaysia and growing.
As testament to the company’s track record and reputation in the industry, OGAWA has been the recipient of the SuperBrands awards, Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award, Putra Brand Award and Malaysia Health and Wellness Brand Award, among others.
Taking a step forward towards ensuring quality standards, OGAWA recently announced its research findings done in collaboration with Universiti Malaya, proving that efficient massages can also be enjoyed with an advanced massage chair.
The research topic “Investigating the effects of OGAWA Master Drive AI automated massage on blood circulation and sleep quality” evaluated the efficiency of massage chair therapy and examined the potential improvement of blood circulation and sleep quality.
Conducted using OGAWA’s flagship product, the OGAWA Master Drive AI 2.0, the research aimed to further raise awareness on the importance of massage to reconnect with your body, while giving you-needed comfortable sleep.
OGAWA executive director and chief executive officer Datuk Lim Mee Ling said: “Through this, we hope to provide deeper insights that will further improve our product development process while educating the general public on the health benefits OGAWA’s massage chair is able to provide.”
The study disclosed that 100% of the participants showed significant improvement in blood circulation – 81.32% by using the OGAWA Master Drive AI 2.0 M.6 Deep Tissue programme, while 100% recorded an increase in sleep quality, and up to 88.73% progressed in sleep efficiency through the M.6 Sweet Dream programme.
The OGAWA Master Drive AI 2.0, as befitting its status of flagship product, features innovative technologies to provide the best massage therapy experience at home.
This massage chair offers vast health solutions with up to 5,184 massage combinations.
In line with OGAWA’s constant innovation, it features advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology that includes face recognition, health tracker and scanner and the AI-powered automated analyst that uses algorithms to gather and manage data to customise your very own massage chair with a programmed list of recommended solutions that precisely targets your problem area.
It utilises a sixth generation microprocessor for efficient running and its voice command control feature makes it easy for users to enjoy a therapeutic experience, as they just need to call out their command and the massage chair will duly respond.
All these, coupled with the significant results from Universiti Malaya joint research portrays the values held dearly by OGAWA that have allowed the company to make a significant contribution to wellness at home.
“In a world of rising healthcare costs, managing our personal health is more vital than ever,” said Lim.
“As such, we aim to integrate smart technology with a healthy lifestyle. We shall continue to build a family health management system with massage chairs at the core.”
