Pensonic marks 40th year milestone


Pensonic founder Datuk Seri Chew Weng Khak started out as a small retailer known as Keat Radio and Electrical Co in Penang.

IT has been a successful 40-year journey for Pensonic that first started out as Keat Radio and Electrical Co in Balik Pulau, Penang.

Now a household name nationwide, its founder Datuk Seri Chew Weng Khak says he owes the success of Pensonic to his staff.

The name Pensonic was coined by Chew who merged the words “Penang” and “sonic” to mean the “sound of Penang”.

This head office is a testament to Pensonic’s accomplishments and realisation of its dreams, based on its corporate values of caring, enjoyment, trustworthiness, innovation and leadership.

Chew says that in this highly competitive market and industry, it is imperative for Pensonic to differentiate itself in the market.

“With this in mind, the company has embarked on a series of branding exercises. The consistency in branding enables Pensonic to sustain and compete even in tough market conditions,” he says.

Pensonic adopted multiple branding strategies, which saw it garnering prestigious awards such as the Brand Excellence Award, Putra Brand Award, Best Brand in Consumer Electrical Appliances and The Most Promising Brand of the Year.

Certified ISO 9001-2000 since 2002, Pensonic has a vast domestic distribution network of five branches and over 900 dealers across the country with over 1,000 points of sale and hundreds of resellers online.

Pensonic products are exported to Asean, east and west Asia, and Middle-Eastern countries.

In 2020, Pensonic streamlined its business operations for greater efficiency by consolidating its five brands – Pensonic, Toush, Cornell, Morphy Richards and Lebensstil Kollektion – under one roof.

Consumers are invited to step into a new era of intelligent living with Pensonic’s Toush Series of smart IoT appliances, whereby all devices in this series are WiFi enabled, can be remotely controlled using the Toush app and voice-control enabled.

In conjunction with Pensonic’s 40th anniversary celebration, Pensonic has launched its Circlez loyalty programme and app that unites all the brands to provide effortless warranty registrations, seamless warranty information tracing, timely customer and service support, easy online shopping, access to ample shopping rewards, earn Circlez points, and find updates on latest deals.

Customers who purchase Pensonic or Toush brand electrical appliances or both from April to July will be rewarded with 1,000 Circlez points.

Ten customers who spend the most on Pensonic or Toush brand electrical appliances or both from April to July via online or offline purchase will each be rewarded with mystery prizes worth RM600.

Each month, 10 top spenders will be chosen. Only those who have successfully registered their product e-warranty in the app will be eligible.

Customers get to redeem a popcorn maker worth RM189 when they purchase RM400 worth of Pensonic or Toush products or both, from April to July. To be eligible, customers need to register their product e-warranty on the app too. Also, check out the social media campaigns during these four months of celebration.
