IN every festive season, Malaysians look forward to the annual commercial showreels that are always memorable, entertaining or heart-wrenching.
In fact, PETRONAS’ commercials are often one of the most anticipated during each festive celebration as its productions never fail to tickle our fancy, touch our hearts and linger on our minds.
If you are among the many fans that are waiting for the second episode of PETRONAS’ original drama series 366, it is now released in conjunction with the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.
The 366 series, which began with Zhi Yi and her quest to find her mother, ends with a cliffhanger in the first episode Day 32, which was released in February in celebration of Chinese New Year.
In this second episode, Day 123, the narrative shifts and focuses on Poji, another character introduced in the first episode, exploring Poji’s childhood, providing an insight into his character as well as a budding romance with Ayu.
While Poji is set to propose to Ayu, life unexpectedly throws him a curveball and he starts questioning the meaning of everything.
PETRONAS senior general manager of group strategic communications Datin Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz said, “It has only been several months into 2022 but we can already see Malaysians resuming their daily lives and finding new purposes, chasing dreams and leaving the past behind.
“The best we can do is keep moving forward, individually, collectively and as a nation.
“As we unite with families this Hari Raya, let us acknowledge how far we have come, our courage and the sacrifices we made in the past couple of years. Let us not take anything for granted and cherish the company of our loved ones.”
Drawing inspiration from the highs and lows of recent years, the seven-episode drama series is anchored upon the overall PETRONAS 2022 festive campaign theme “Live Again”, which portrays the resilience, fortitude and camaraderie of Malaysians during the trying times of Covid-19.
366 is the story of Malaysians for Malaysians, of how individuals managed to overcome uncertainties and that mistakes should not stop us from moving forward and thriving.
A tale filled with love, friendship and acceptance, 366 is directed by award-winning film director Kabir Bhatia. The Mumbai-born filmmaker has spent the last two decades in Malaysia. Some of his past works include Bisik Pada Langit (2016), Anak Merdeka (2017), Pulang (2018) and Sangkar (2019).
With seven episodes in total, one for every major festivity of the year, PETRONAS is breaking the mould of conventional festive storytelling and working with the local film industry to tell the story of everyday Malaysians.
The seven episodes the public can look forward to are:
> Episode 1: Chinese New Year – Day 32
