K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House is growing rapidly
WITH the commitment to diversify the group’s portfolio, AlphaCapital (M) Berhad has decided to invest in rising food and beverage business K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House with a total investment of up to RM15mil over five years, to open 10 stores locally and abroad.
The opening and operation of the first K-Town outlet has successfully proven that it is a lucrative business and has garnered interest in AlphaCapital to invest and generate great returns to their investors.
A memorandum of strategic partnership agreement was signed by AlphaCapital chief executive officer Syed Mahadzir Fadaak and Globalisasi K-Town director, who is also a renowned local artist Zizan Razak at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) on April 15.
The signing was witnessed by representatives from AlphaCapital (M) Berhad Erna Elliyana (AlphaNeyaga Sdn Bhd founder, a AlphaCapital subsidiary), Ahmad Yusoff Hamzah (Chief Shariah and Compliance Officer), Andy Dhani (Chief Operating Officer) and representatives from Globalisasi KTown Sdn Bhd, which owns K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House Andy Goh (Managing Director) and Justin Choo (Co-Director).
Tan Sri Noh Bin Haji Omar, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives made a video appearance to congratulate AlphaCapital (M) Berhad and Globalisasi Ktown on their cooperation.
The opening of the largest K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House in Malaysia by AlphaCapital and Globalisasi KTown has received Tan Sri Noh Omar’s full support for creating more than 50 job opportunities for Malaysians, especially for the people of Selangor.
He hopes K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House can become a franchise enterprise capable of expanding its business overseas.
The largest branch opened in July
There were over 100 individuals in attendance that night, comprising guests of honor, investors and partners in attendance. Among the guests present from Globalisasi Ktown are Sam Wong (Purchasing and Operations Director), Patricia Heng (Marketing Director), Tommy Yong (Maintenance Director), CK Lee (Executive Chef), and Faridah Abdul Latif (Branch Manager).
Upon signing this memorandum, AlphaCapital and Globalisasi KTown will work together on a shareholding basis, with individual holdings of 40% and 60% respectively.
The two companies will work together to open 10 more K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House branches in Malaysia as well as overseas, under the auspices of AlphaCapital. Globalisasi KTown will utilise all funding for preparations such as interior designing, renovation, rental, staffing, operations, marketing and such.
The second branch of K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House will be located in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam with a backing of RM1.5mil by AlphaCapital. With an area of 399 sq m (4,300 sq ft), the Bukit Jelutong branch is targeted to open in July and will be the largest branch in the Klang Valley.
K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House’s signature concept reflects the K-Pop style, committed to bringing Malaysian consumers a similar experience as in Korea to enjoy Korean food and experience locally.
K-Town expands to Indonesia next year
Choo revealed that K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House is a catering product of a local Malaysian brand and both parties are now preparing to open a third branch in Johor with a total area of 372 sq m (4,000 sq ft).
Apart from focusing on the domestic market, he also plans to expand to Jakarta and Sumatra in Indonesia next year. He said that the K-Town Korean BBQ Grill House, which was started in November 2021, had attracted a large number of consumers to line up to enjoy their daily meals.
Profit returns are made within a month
The first K-Town branch is located in Desa Pandan, with a total area of 344 sq m (3,700 sq ft), which includes two VIP rooms.
According to Goh, the K-Town menu is specially curated to suit local Malaysian tastebuds without losing the authentic Korean taste profiles.

Syed Mahadzir said, "As a private investment company, we are looking for potential projects and the catering industry is a sector the company is always optimistic about and wants to venture into."

Syed Mahadzir stressed that both sides will carry out long-term cooperation towards opening the targeted 10 K-Town Korea branches. Apart from the Bukit Jelutong branch, three more are expected to open this year.
