EARLIER this year, global tech brand OPPO revealed that they would be entering a three-year partnership with the legendary Swedish camera company Hasselblad to co-develop industry-leading camera technologies for Oppo’s latest flagship Find X series.
The cooperation between OPPO and Hasselblad focuses on breakthroughs in colour science to create an improved, mobile photography experience on “Hasselblad Camera for Mobile” – much like what you can experience with the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G.
Known for its iconic approach to natural colour, OPPO has worked closely with Hasselblad to bring Natural Calibration to life in the Find X5 Pro 5G, so the smartphone can bring out the most natural skin tone possible with its portrait photography and deliver a consistent natural color performance.
Featuring software that has been co-developed with the renowned Swedish camera maker, the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G features a handful of unique Hasselblad-inspired features, which come with the default camera app.
The Hasselblad XPan mode on the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G gets its namesake directly from the much-revered film camera of the same name.
One of these features is the Hasselblad XPan mode which can be accessed in the “More” section of the camera settings.
XPan mode allows you to shoot still images that recreate the vintage ultra-wide panoramic 65x24mm film format of the original camera to great effect. You can apply a monochrome filter in this mode too to truly emulate that retro feel.
With XPan mode, users will have a completely new perspective when taking photos and it’s also a mode preferred by many photographers around the world when shooting landscapes, streets and even portraits.
To complement the Find X5 Pro 5G’s camera capabilities, the flagship device uses a new 13-channel colour sensor which leverages the Hasselblad Natural Colour Calibration feature to provide more natural and true-to-life colours.
Replacing resin with glass of front elements on the cameras from previous models, it’s able to capture colours more accurately while reducing chromatic aberration too.

But wait, there’s more. The legendary camera maker also helped develop Master Style so you can add some depth and treatment to your photos with a simple tap of your finger.
The Find X5 Pro 5G comes with three “Hasselblad Master Styles” – Serenity, Radiance and Emerald which work as different built-in camera filters that adjust the colour profile of the image.
The user interface in the camera app and shutter sound also mimic Hasselblad’s cameras to really bring back that analogue feel of professional-grade cameras.

Not only does this partnership benefit current Hasselblad users, but it also helps amateur and budding photographers create professional-looking images with minimal effort.
Other than the Hasselblad feature, OPPO’s first self-developed imaging NPU MariSilicon X uses an advanced AI noise reduction (AINR) algorithm designed by OPPO Research Institute – allowing the Find X5 Pro 5G to detect and reduce noise in each frame while preserving finer details skin tone, colour accuracy enhancing the Find X5 Pro 5G’s performance for night or low light photography and video.
As for the capabilities of the phone, the Find X5 Pro 5G features a 6.7in 1440p 120HZ OLED display and uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Processor.
The flagship device also boasts a 5,000mAh battery that utilises 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Recently, OPPO also announced its partnership with Getty Images, a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace, to launch their Reinterpret Your Moment campaign.
