Longchamp creates limited edition Le Pliage Re-Play bags out of leftover materials from past collections
EVERY season, fashion enthusiasts wait with bated breath for the latest collections from their favourite brands to be launched.
However, beyond the glitz and excitement, have you ever wondered what happens to stocks of canvas or other materials left over from previous collections? Surely, they shouldn’t go to waste?
To address this issue of wastage, Longchamp has found the perfect solution to utilise its end-of-the-roll materials as responsibly as possible.
This has given birth to the colourful, positive and eco-conscious Le Pliage Re-Play collection, which utilises materials left over from previous collections in exciting ways.
The Le Pliage Re-Play collection consists of three models to suit different tastes and preferences.
Take your pick from a spacious vertical tote, a small shoulder bag, or an on-trend belt bag. Each piece combines two different colours of end-of-the-roll nylon canvas trimmed with Russian leather in a third colour.
This line of bags is a joyful retrospective over the many seasons during which Le Pliage has delighted its fans with its constantly renewed colour palette, while simultaneously making the best use of available resources to produce its well-loved collections.
Le Pliage Re-Play comes in nine different colour combinations and are available in varying quantities in boutiques throughout the world.
Each and every piece is vibrant, original and unexpected – it’s practically impossible to pick a favourite!
Any decision will need to be taken quickly, because Le Pliage Re-Play is, quite literally, a limited edition.
Once the stocks of canvas and leather are exhausted, these bags can never be reproduced.
Get your hands on one, and given the legendary quality and durability of Le Pliage, you virtually have a bag for life.
The launch of Le Pliage Re-Play will be accompanied on digital media by a series of joyful, disruptive films with the familiar sign-off: “Made from our end of the roll fabric. It is not a bag. It is Le Pliage Re-Play.”
The videos feature two models pulling the last lengths of canvas from their white cardboard rolls, which then transform into stick figures and start dancing.
Follow your playful, eco-conscious spirit with Le Pliage Re-Play. Available from July 19, 2022, at www.longchamp.com and Longchamp boutiques at The Gardens Mall, Pavilion KL and Suria KLCC.
